Get To Know Your Core

LEVEL 2-3

Class begins with a vigorous Yoga flow warm-up and core exercises then moves into weight training with balance work. Finishing with mat-Pilates exercises to strengthen the whole torso. Designed to get to know your core, develop body awareness and gain strength in your trunk.

Hatha Flow

LEVEL 1-2

Hatha flow classes focus on coordinating breath with movements and postures. Flowing sequences will be balanced with longer holds. Postures are held to build strength, have time for alignment, and to stabilize the mind. Flows are intended to increase the heart rate and create fluidity in the body. Students will learn the principles of alignment, anatomy, body mechanics and mindfulness. These classes are designed to allow each participant to gauge the intensity of the class based on their particular needs.

 Gentle Yoga

ALL LEVELS (SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS)

This slow paced class will work the body gradually.  Postures are practiced at a slower pace with attention to breath and alignment. Slow flowing sequences are paired with gentle strengthening movements, but not to the intensity of a hatha flow class. This well rounded class is designed to build strength and increase flexibility. Great for seniors, given you have the ability to move up and down from the floor.

 

 Yoga Basics

ALL LEVELS (SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS)

Class focuses on the basics of good alignment, covering standing and seated poses that open and strengthen the body while staying present to achieve proper balance. These classes are ideal for the beginner or for
anyone who enjoys working on the fundamental aspects of the practice.

Restorative Yoga

ALL LEVELS (SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS)

Busy? Come slow down and nourish yourself! Restorative yoga is the use of props to support the body in positions of ease and comfort to facilitate relaxation and health. It is a practice of deliberate stillness and requires no muscular effort. In this class, we will settle into some supported floor poses  for intervals of about 5 minutes while releasing tension, gently breathing, and allowing gravity to draw us towards the steadiness of the earth underneath. Restorative yoga poses affect our nervous system in a way that reduces the influence of our activating systems (sympathetic) and increases the efforts of our quieting systems (parasympathetic) so that we can rest.  This style of yoga provides a time for BEING instead of DOING. This class is a practice of actively cultivating the attitude of letting go and will help teach you to learn how to deeply relax.

Chair Yoga

ALL LEVELS (SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS)

Chair Yoga offers a safe, low-impact workout, with cross training benefits that will change your life for the best. Flexibility, mobility, bone density and strength can all be enhanced with the practice of Chair Yoga.

Chair Yoga is especially well suited to older adults or persons recovering from injury or illness because this practice doesn’t put undue stress on joints and can be customized to suit persons with physical limitations. Research shows that yoga can help manage or control arthritis, back pain, blood pressure, depression, diabetes, head aches, chronic fatigue, stress and many more conditions. It can improve muscle tone, flexibility, strength and stamina, concentration and creativity, as well as stimulate the immune system and create a sense of well-being and calm.
Chairs and other props will be used during class and are provided at the studio. Class suitable for all ages.

Vinyasa Flow

LEVEL 2-3

This dynamic class focuses on linking movements with the breath, encouraging a sense of flow between asanas while also establishing a sense of healthy alignment in each posture. Class includes sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated and reclining poses, backbends, and core isolation as well as yogic philosophy and chanting.

Power Yoga

LEVEL 2-3

Vinyasa Power Yoga is a fluid, powerful, style of yoga that links movement and breath together and is based on intuition rather than tradition. Vinyasa Power Yoga heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on movement, balance, and intention.  The dynamic mix of sweat and spirit that is cultivated in a Power Yoga class will challenge you to step up to your edge, and unlock your hidden potential for achieving authentic personal power and living an extraordinary life.  Be prepared to SHINE!

Align & Flow

LEVEL 1-2

This class is an alignment based Vinyasa class. The pace will be slower than our power and flow classes so we can focus on alignment and posture. This class is great for anyone working with injuries, or just wanting to brush up on the foundations of alignment. Explore your body and mind with yoga postures, breath and meditation. Emphasis is on alignment and self awareness for a safe practice.  Develop and maintain strength, flexibility and balance for health and well being.

Gentle Core

ALL LEVELS (SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS)

Class combining deep stretching and core strengthening designed to bring relaxation, increase flexibility and activate core. Moves at a slow pace allowing for longer holds and space to decompress, exploring  Smaller movements to activate deep core  stabilizers. Appropriate for all levels.
